Cristián Pavez
 
Cristian Pavez was born in Santiago, Chile in 1972. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics in 1998 and 2005, respectively, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago. In 2007, he received the Ph.D. degree from the Universidad de Concepción, Concepción, Chile, developing his Ph.D. thesis in experimental plasma physics at the plasma laboratory of the Comisión Chilena de Energía Nuclear (CCHEN).

Since December 2008, he has been working at the Thermonuclear Plasma Department at the CCHEN. His main research interests are in dense transient plasmas, including Z-pinch, plasma focus and capillary discharges and transient plasma diagnostics.
